We need your help!! Eating disorders are real and people are needlessly suffering every single day. This is not something that
“happens to someone else,” this is happening to someone you know – your children, your friends, a family member, or a loved one. One out of every five women suffers an eating disorder whether,
Anorexia, Bulimia or Binge eating. Please help raise money so this doesn’t happen to someone you know. Education, awareness, and treatment are the keys to effectively battling eating disorders.
How can you help? By making a donation of time, money, or both. My Hope Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization so your donations are tax deductible.

I believe that you go through things for a reason! As hard as my life was,
living with an eating disorder . I wouldn’t change a thing. My life was a
journey that has brought me to a wonderful path in my life. Helping others
is my passion and I am proud to be able to help . I want people to realize
their potential and that they can succeed. Eating Disorders are not choices
they are illnesses and they are also the leading cause of death among mental
illnesses. I have owned and operated a Eating Disorder Clinic and have held several
high marketing executuive positions after my eating disorder. Now, i own a Non profit
to help with Education and funding of all eating disorders. Having dealt with a long
battle with an eating disorder it is easy for me to relate to others.
If I can move on and live a normal healthy life..it is possible! In order for you to truely
grasp my passion to help others you must hear my story.
As an overweight teen I was ridiculed everyday at school. A day didn’t go
by that I wasn’t called names or made fun of for being heavier than everyone else. . I wasn’t living just
exisiting… In a body that I was Ok with but noone else accepted.
After years of torture, I was enrolled in a weight loss clinic at the age of sixteen.
Without counceling or any formal therapy I was given a meal plan and
excerside program to follow. As a child, I did it. and was told what
to eat, when to eat it and how much to excersise. Once, i started
loosing weight I was getting positive feedback and I felt great! So I
kept it up. I went back to school and I was one of the must popular
girls in school.. All from loosing weight!!
One problem here was that I didnt seek treatment. So taking a young
lady who wasnt accepted and changing her body made for a very cunfused
person... After a few months the depression set in, I was not able to
cope with my new body without binging. Another problem I wasnt going
to be heavy again. So I had a GREAT idea. "Binge and Purge"...so
this was my life for the next twenty years. I cant describe the
torture that I endured and I wouldn't wish that life on anyone.

Look for the upcoming series "Crisis To Recovery", hosted by Joan Lunden for Public Television. Lisa Hatten owner of La Bonne Maison
will be featured on the show. She'll be telling her story of Restorative Living. The program exemplifies Lisa's dream of bringing hope to men and women with eating disorders.
